Boost Large Format Floor and Wall Tile
One of the most frequently asked questions we get here in the showroom: We really wanted a polished concrete floor but then realised our budget didn’t stretch to it…. What suggestions do you have?
Is this polished concrete? Nope, it’s a large format porcelain floor tile! These bad boys are designed to mimic polished concrete so you’d be forgiven for being mistaken!
The most common area of use is as the main floor tile in residential and commercial space. This range is available in 6 colour options of 120×120 tiles! Smoke, Grey, Taupe, Cream, White and Pearl. The high tech excellence of these large format floor tile allows them to be used outdoors too for seamless transition. Utilise those large sliding doors into your garden and create a flow.
Why choose a large format floor tile? It means less grout lines thus an unbroken expanse of tile to achieve a fantastic illusion of space. Cleaning is also a little easier! They look amazing too, lets face it, at the end of the day it comes down to aesthetics!
TIP: be sure your tiler is aware of the appropriate use of expansion joints, if he is unsure, we can advise on this
The Takara Large Format Terrazzo Tile
If you’re looking for a terrazzo effect floor or wall tile with beautiful stone flecks, take a look at the Takara range! These Terrazzo large format tiles are 90×90 suitable for floors and walls.
With beautiful flecks of whites, greys, subtle blues and mustards this range is set apart from the rest.
The four colours in this range ensures that no one is left out! Pair these with brushed brass or black accessories for a contemporary modern look. Accents of greens, mustards and blush pinks & blues will also bring these floor and wall tiles to life! Can you tell we are massive fans of these?!
The Takara tile can be used in bathrooms on the floors and walls as well as the main thoroughfare of your home. They have a rectified edge which makes them a little more contemporary but they could work just as well in a modern farmhouse as they could in a sleek open plan home. If you are seeking a more traditional tile – flagstone tiles would be more up your street. (Don’t worry, we have them too!)
Calacatta Gold Large Format Tiles
Generally people who are drawn towards marble tiles don’t deviate from them. The Calacatta Gold floor and wall tile are the hands down winner in this category! With soft warm honey veins , they are far from clinical. So if you love marble and you’re looking for a change, this could be the tile for you!
The Calacatta tile is another adaptable tile in terms of area of use. The Calacatta Gold tiles are high gloss which will bounce light around your home. In a bathroom, these tiles look really amazing with brushed brass taps, mirrors and a flash of timber for warmth. They are also available in a wall tile so run these right into your walk-in shower and wet room areas.
Generally the Calacatta tiles suit contemporary modern homes, perhaps dare we say a minimalists dream.
Whats in Stock?
In terms of what’s in stock, we are in a fortunate position to have well established suppliers with reputable manufacturers bringing you the best in mid to high end flooring options. Here’s just two of our best selling floors that are in stock!
Grain and Groove Bespoke Herringbone Wood Floor
Our G&G Bespoke Herringbone is oiled to order. Responsibly sourced from sustainable forests with FSC accreditations and oiled in Ireland. This engineered herringbone is a floor that you can walk on every day safe in the knowledge that you have made a sustainable choice.
Engineered floors are made up of a layer of hardwood on the top and most commonly a birch ply or spruce base. This not only makes the floor more stable but make it more environmentally friendly as less hardwood is used. Engineered floors were designed specifically for underfloor heating.
Solid floors are exactly that, solid hardwood all the way through. While they are beautiful, it is very hard to tell the difference between them and engineered nowadays. They have a tendency to be less stable with natural expansion and contraction of the timber.
Timber flooring is a natural choice of flooring suitable for any style of home from modern to traditional, housing estate to country estate. It feels grounding, cosy and comfortable in a home. It can be run right through your home for a seamless transition from room to room.
It can suit any lifestyle, we can guide you towards the best low maintenance floors taking colour, grain and finish into consideration.
Timber floors can even be used in a bathroom! What?!! That’s right! We have one particular range that is specifically designed for bathroom floors! Made from exotic hardwoods, these floors withstand the humidity of a bathroom with ease.
Live Pure Animoso Wood Floor

The Live Pure range is a patent pending surface technology designed to look and feel like raw timber BUT this one is ultra low maintenance. Party pad, unruly kids, stilettos, you name it, this floor is going to stand up to the test. If you love a timber floor but are not prepared to oil every few years or lacquer every decade or so, than this is the choice for you!
